Disabled riders come together for their biggest horse riding event in QLD!
20 August 2015
The Queensland State Equestrian Centre, Queensland's premier equestrian venue located in Caboolture, has the honour of hosting this premier, annual event in the Riding for the Disabled calendar.
50 riders of varying ages with disabilities that range from Cerebral Palsy and Down syndrome to mental health issues will converge on the weekend event from Riding for the Disabled Clubs around Queensland. Samford, Burpengary, Pullenvale, Rockhampton, Warwick and Bundaberg are some of the areas represented with riders competing in a variety of equestrian tests and games. Dressage, centre team relays and mounted games (western bend, diamond flag, figure 8 and key hole) are some of the events that competitors will take part in across the weekend.
A highlight of the event will be the Fancy Dress parade on Sunday August 23 at 8:30am in the QSEC Main Arena.
Competition starts at 8:30am on Saturday 22nd August and continues through until Sunday 23rd August.
The QSEC Café will be operating from 9am til 4pm both days so there will be plenty of refreshments, including tea, coffee and hot and cold food. Entry is free and spectators are welcomed to come and cheer the riders on!
