What depth is the sand in the Main Arena and Arena 2?

The sand is approximately 50mm in both covered sand arenas.

How do I book Stables & Camping?

All stable and camping bookings are completed through Nominate. The bookings will open for each event 2 months from the start date. For further information refer to Book stables and camping.

What size are the stables?

The stables are 3.6m x 3.6m with a bitumen foundation and anti-slip rubber matting.

How do I get to the stables?

The entry to the stables and camping facilities are located at Gate 14, 101 Old Gympie Road, Caboolture. Please note there is NO access to the stables via Tuckeroo Drive/Beerburrum Road side of the venue.

Are wheelbarrows, rakes and/or shovels required?

For most events (unless other specified by the hirer), QSEC will provide a small quantity of wheelbarrows, rakes and brooms for cleaning stables only. Some event organisers prefer that their competitors bring their own. We suggest that you bring your own trolleys, wheelbarrows, rakes and/or shovels for moving feed and gear from the parking to the stables.

Is stable cleaning by the QSEC venue mandatory or can I clean the stable myself?

Stable Cleaning is mandatory at QSEC and is subject to a cleaning bond. The bond is fully refunded if the stable is completely cleaned, swept and stripped of all bedding, feed, manure, urine including stains/marks and wet material upon your departure. Bedding and waste materials must be either taken from the site or deposited in the allocated waste bay. All string, baling twine, cable ties must be removed from stables. All stables must be left free of damage - any damage will be charged to the person who has used them.  For further information refer to Stable and camping rules(PDF, 162KB).

Where do I dump my manure and bedding when cleaning out my stable? 

All manure and bedding can be dumped in the manure bay located near the camping reception. No horse manure or shavings are to be placed at the bottom of trees or in gardens around the QSEC grounds.

I am a competitor and have booked a camp site and stables.  Can I bring a second vehicle?

Yes, you may bring a second vehicle, however if you wish to have it parked in the competitor area near your main vehicle, you must book a second site for this vehicle. Alternatively, you can leave the second vehicle parked in the spectator parking area.

How far is it from my stable to the arena?

The stable block is located approximately 400m from the Main Arena, 400m from the Outdoor Dressage Arenas and within proximity to all competition and warm up arenas. View the Facility map(PDF, 2MB).

Can I bring glass to QSEC, even at the stables and campground? 

NO! The entire site of QSEC is glass free, this is for the safety of our equine and human visitors.

Is QSEC accessible for wheelchairs?

QSEC has been developed to ensure that people with a disability are able to access and enjoy our facility. Each competition area has accessible toilet facilities. Competitors move between the Main Arena and stables using a hard surface track with ramps at each end. Accessible shower and toilet facilities are available at the stables for competitors. The camp kitchen is also fully accessible.

Can I park my float/horse vehicle at the Main Arena when I attend an event/competition at QSEC?

No. Due to safety, we ask that all day parking competitors do so at the designated day parking area for your event. Please check with your event organiser.

How do I book an event at QSEC?

We aim to make booking events at QSEC as hassle free as possible. Firstly, contact QSEC to check that your preferred date is free. From there you will be required to complete a booking form which we will input into the event calendar. A quote and deposit amount will be produced and one the deposit is paid; your event will be confirmed. One of our QSEC staff will contact you to talk about your event and provide all the necessary information. For further information refer to Book an event.

Do I need to provide public liability insurance?

Yes, all event organisers are required to provide a copy of their current public liability insurance as well as complete the QSEC site induction.

What are the event rules I need to adhere to?

It is a requirement of booking at QSEC that all event organisers read the terms and conditions of hire. There may also be additional venue rules that will be communicated by QSEC staff. Review the Terms and Conditions of Hire(PDF, 49KB).

Does QSEC have access for wheelchairs?

QSEC has been developed to ensure that people with a disability are able to access and enjoy our facility. Spectators can access the Main Arena from a drop off area with ramp access. We have reserved wheelchair seating areas in the Main Arena and a lift is available to access the upper level. The toilets for people with disabilities are located on each side of the Main Arena.

Can I bring food to events at QSEC

You can bring limited outside snacks and sealed water bottles to QSEC. The following will NOT be permitted; metal (cutlery, etc); alcohol; thermos flasks; hot food/drink; large coolers/eskies/picnic baskets; or any form of glass (bottles, containers, etc). Some events may have other restrictions so if you are unsure, contact QSEC.

Can I bring my dog?

There are no dogs permitted in the Main Arena or Arena 2 or near equestrian competition spaces during. We advise that you check with the event organiser as each event has different rules. If dogs are allowed, they must be kept on a leash (no longer than 1 metre in length) always and are not permitted inside the Main Arena or near equestrian competition spaces. Any stray dogs will be reported to the Moreton Bay Regional Council pound and their removal from the premises will be arranged immediately. All dog waste is to be removed by the owner or person in control of the dog.

Can I smoke or vape at QSEC?

QSEC is a non-smoking/non-vaping venue including the stables, amenities blocks and the Main Arena. In accordance with Queensland Government policy, smoking and vaping is permitted only in the designated outdoor smoking/vaping Areas. Anyone caught smoking or vaping outside of a designated area may be subject to on the spot fines.

Can I bring my own alcohol to QSEC?

No. QSEC is liquor licensed and any liquor bought into the venue (outside of designated event camping areas) will be confiscated and may be subject to on the spot fines.

Is there accommodation close to QSEC?

There are a number of accommodation providers in close proximity to QSEC. Visit the Moreton Bay Region website to find accommodation in Caboolture and the wider Moreton Bay Region.

Are there public transport links to QSEC?

The Caboolture train station is approximately 2.6 km from QSEC. Some events will arrange connecting shuttle buses. Check What's on for more information.

What sort of things should I leave at home?

To ensure the safety and comfort of all competitors, entertainers and visitors to QSEC, the following items are not permitted:

  • Any glass items - QSEC is a strictly no glass venue
  • Any item that may be used as a weapon
  • Laser pointers
  • Loud hailers or whistles
  • Helium balloons
  • Unauthorised advertising materials including flyers or materials of a political nature
  • Musical instruments

Occasionally event organisers may have other requests regarding items not permitted at events.  These requests will be communicated on the event listing and/or additional signage at QSEC on the day.
